The solution is typically not very difficult once a current state is objectively understood and agreed on. Every leader and front-line employee who relies on data can eagerly tell you the problems they face and some suggestions on how to fix them. Bringing everyone together in a structured and open way and building some consensus on the problems is the 50% of the battle.

Our Current State Data and Analytics Service Offering is designed to do exactly that. Here’s how it works:

You identify stakeholders in your organization who rely on data and may have insight on the current issues and potential solutions. This is typically anywhere from 5 – 25 people.
We send an 18 question online survey to get their feedback and suggestions. This covers 4 dimensions – Analytics & Reporting, Data, Technology, and People & Culture. We additionally capture the technologies in use at your company with another survey for IT.
We prepare an analysis of the results and a ranking of the current sentiment and identify areas of improvement and suggestions for achieving results
We conduct a virtual workshop session to review the results, solicit feedback, and build consensus. We may also conduct 1:1 interviews as needed
We have a pre-read with immediate stakeholders and then present the findings to the broader group to further build consensus. The final report provides some high-level actionable solutions and lays the groundwork to build a more robust strategic Data and Analytics capability

The Output

As a strategic advisory firm our objective is to provide the baseline and roadmap to organize, identify opportunities, and build consensus on an approach. This short, week long study does just that. The study includes:

Executive summary of objectives, activities, participants, and high-level findings
Detailed and summarized results of survey including summarized open-ended feedback from participants
High-level recommendations on actions to take now, next, and later
High-level recommendation on immediate actions
High-level recommendations on technology findings

Once the output is assembled we do a pre-read for immediate stakeholders and adjust messaging as needed. We then present to all stakeholders and participants to further validate consensus and plan of action.
